First project for this winter
As the day light starts to shorten, I started my hibernation mode for this winter. There are fewer jobs to do in Phoebe’s Patch this time of the year. While the winter vegetables are in the raised beds and slowly growing away, I am turning my attention to knitting for the winter.
I have started knitting a scarf for my friend’s 7 year old son, Edward. It is a relatively easy scarf and most amateur knitters will be able to make it as long as you know the basic cast on/off, knit and purl stitch. Edward is a tall boy and I hope he will be able to enjoy the scarf for the next few years. Therefore, I am making the scarf slightly on the bigger size to accommodate his growth.
All the keen knitters out there, it is time to stock up some yarns and get the wood fire started in the snug. Nothing beats a handmade garment for Christmas!
Stay tuned for progress reports!
